Son Ultime presents the MPC1500 Isolation Transformer designed and built entirely at McIntosh. This offers us a nominal continuous current of 15 Amps, sufficient even for the reference system at Son Ultime!
Complete isolation from the outside world:
The McIntosh MPC1500 uses a huge isolation transformer. This acts as a Low-Pass Filter. This isolation transformer generates a noise-free signal from the high frequencies found on residential power lines. McIntosh is one of the last amplifier manufacturers in the world to have kept transformer production. The MPC1500 is therefore a real product entirely made at McIntosh.
It should be noted that the use of this isolation transformer represents the biggest difference with the MPC500. The latter uses thermally protected MOVs. The isolation transformer of the MPC1500 being significantly more efficient…
Energy reservoir:
