Delphi mkVI
The Delphi Mk6 Turntable is quite simply a technological masterpiece. It is the entire great legacy of Oracle since its first generation in 1979. Recognized as the best Turntable in the world time and time again, it is the dream of any audiophile desiring only the Ultimate performance. Imagined, thought out, designed and built with the very essence of the meaning of the word "Perfection".
Ultimate Vibration Isolation
A significant number of problems related to music reproduction arise from both internal and external vibrations of the playback system. Oracle's unique suspension system is made of several different materials that absorb the widest frequency band of vibration energy possible. Indeed, as each of these materials has its own specific absorption band, their cumulative effect allows a remarkable mechanical stabilization.
Double Chassis System
The "Reading Tray/Bras-de-Reading" assembly rests on a floating subframe. The latter is itself mounted on a sophisticated suspension attached to the main frame of the Delphi. This suspension is the first stage of mechanical insulation. Delphi MkVI's floating subframe plays an important structural role. Its rigidity and robustness support and isolate the turntable as well as the ultra-precise playback mechanism consisting of the tonearm and the phono cartridge. The acrylic chassis, thanks to its imposing mass as well as the adjustable Delrin feet, also contributes to the isolation of environmental vibrations.
Micro-Vibration Stabilization System (MVSS)
The MVSS system is considered by Oracle to be the largest and most significant improvement to Delphi in 35 years of research and development. The MVSS acts as a shock absorber for the main suspension of the Delphi MkVI and is also effective in absorbing micro-vibrations present in the playing environment. These micro-vibrations are omnipresent and contribute to "polluting" the reading signal. With the MVSS system, the "Floating-Sub-Chassis/Rotating-Platform/Tone-Arm/Cartridge" assembly is completely isolated from the influence of these micro-vibrations. The MVSS system basically consists of three aluminum barrels containing a high viscosity silicone that are attached to the acrylic base. Three divers attached to the floating subframe soak lightly in the silicone baths. They can thus dissipate unwanted micro-vibrations in order to prevent them from spreading to the mechanical components of the Delphi. The result is a significantly improved sonic performance. We obtain greater clarity and a more detailed or even deeper image which comes from a better reading precision and this over the entire frequency range. The low frequencies in particular become deeper and more frank.
When it came time to choose the Delphi drive system, Oracle Audio went without compromise. It is equipped with a low-voltage AC synchronous motor and a high-precision motor control electronic circuit that ensures high stability of motor rotation. Utilizing a 24 volt power supply, the Delphi MkVI can also be powered by the optional Turbo MkII power supply increasing the level of performance into an unforgettable experience! The turntable is made of aluminum and serves as a driving surface for the belt. The pivot support is made up of two rings which have the role of maintaining the alignment of the plate. Also, the pivot rests on a stopper which is made of a high performance thermoplastic called “PEEK” which is one of the strongest of thermoplastics. It's the ideal material to transmit the least amount of vibration energy while being strong enough to ensure proper platter rotation for the life of the Delphi!
In order to provide an impeccable finish, the vast majority of aluminum parts are machined with diamond-tipped tools. Otherwise, the aluminum parts are brushed by hand and then covered with a polyester lacquer in order to seal and preserve the texture of the surfaces. It is this meticulous work that gives the Delphi its status as a work of art!
