The Marantz HD-AMP1 is among the very first equipment of the new generation "HD Series" from Marantz. In fact, this is an HD-DAC1 to which Marantz has integrated a class D amplification section allowing the addition of loudspeakers. In order to eliminate the phenomenon of "internal amplification microphony", the HD-AMP1 is built on a double-thick aluminum base. This gives it the anti-vibration mechanical stability necessary to achieve such levels of performance.

In terms of amplification, the HD-AMP1 is equipped with the latest models of class D amplification module from Marantz. This type of amplification makes it possible to maintain extraordinary efficiency while offering a powerful power supply that can power virtually all possible speakers. The amplification system responds up to frequencies of 50Khz and is able to provide a real 70W/channel into 4Ohm.

The HD-AMP1 is equipped with both state-of-the-art ESS Saber digital-to-analog converters and Marantz's exclusive HDAM technology. Together, these allow the processing of the largest digital recording formats up to PCM 32bits/384KHz and DSD 11.2MHz! In addition, in order to be as stable as possible at each of the sampling frequencies, the HD-AMP1 uses 2 internal master quartz “clocks”. High-precision digital filtration stages are used to extract as much digital information as possible from the recordings. A processing algorithm has been specially developed by Marantz and integrated into the very heart of the HD-AMP1!

The HD-AMP1 uses a set of digital inputs allowing virtually any digital source to be used. Interestingly, the USB input is an asynchronous function which allows the transmission of very high resolution formats. This USB input is perfect for using a computer as a universal source.
