The AV-8802A is a true home theater marvel! Marantz wanted to design a product worthy of the most demanding moviegoers. It therefore offers us a Processor / Preamp that is both incredibly efficient in the processing of digital signals and a work of art in terms of preamplification! With this processor/preamp you will get fabulous resolution in movies and music. Also, it is equipped with the Apple Airplay connection in order to control it easily and wirelessly. Using state-of-the-art digital decoders such as the famous Dolby "True-HD" and "DTS-HD" Master Audio, the AV-8802A Multichannel Preamplifier/Processor represents a sure bet for performance and reliability. A multitude of features are offered on the amplification side such as "Biamplification", "Front Height" speakers, and several music services such as SiriusXM, Spotify and Pandora are offered. In addition, the AV-8802A incorporates a video processor to process 4K images (3840 x 2160)!

Not only is the AV-8802A compatible with Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD formats, it is also one of the first receivers to incorporate the new Dolby Atmos and DTS:X technologies. These technologies are used in particular by state-of-the-art cinemas. Based on the addition of a third dimension that is height, Dolby Atmos allows the integration of ceiling speakers offering an even more realistic immersion in films. The AV-8802A is able to offer installation ranging from 5.2.2 to 7.2.4

To deliver the best possible performance, Marantz has designed the AV-8802A with 11 discrete Preamp circuits. Each channel is therefore unique and does not share any component with the neighboring channel. The result is incomparable sonic coherence.

This system is only present in the best cinema processors available such as the Marantz AV-8802A. Being a much more sophisticated programming than automated systems, only a specialist certified by Audyssey Pro such as Son Ultime is able to take the acoustic measurements of a room and program the computerized calibration system. Thanks to software specially designed for this purpose, Son Ultime controls several acoustic aspects of your listening room such as reverberation, standing waves, frequency responses and acoustic absorption. To achieve this, several processing technologies such as MultiEQ, BassXT, VXT, Dynamic EQ, Dynamic Volume, DSX and LFC are used.

Designed to respond to several different types of amplification, the AV-8802A offers the possibility of “Bi-amplification” the front speakers, of using 4 rear channels as two additional stereophonic zones or even of using “Front Height” speakers.
