It was in 2011 that Oracle “resurrected” the Paris MkV turntable after more than a decade since its previous version. It came back strong, benefiting from all the know-how and technological advances acquired during the development of the Delphi Mk4. The Oracle Paris Mk5 was completely redesigned and each of its components was chosen to harmonize with the whole. Each of the components contributes in its own way to the control of vibrations and resonances.

Ingenious Suspension

A significant number of problems related to music reproduction stem from vibrations both internal and external to the playback system. The unique suspension system of the Paris absorbs the widest frequency band of vibration energies possible. The combination of the subframe suspension and the MVSS system forms an effective decoupling assembly allowing the needle to return all the wealth of information that lies deep in the grooves of the discs

Double Chassis System

The “Tray/Bras-de-Reading” assembly is based on a semi-floating subframe. The latter is itself mounted on a suspension made up of fiberglass rods and Sorbothane rings which are themselves fixed to the Main Chassis of the Paris. This suspension system is the first step in isolating mechanical vibrations that come from the playback environment.

Micro-Vibration Stabilization System (MVSS)

The MVSS system is essentially a second stage suspension and is considered by Oracle to be the company's largest and most significant research and development enhancement. The MVSS acts as a shock absorber for the tonearm, absorbing the ubiquitous micro-vibrations that contribute to "polluting" the playback signal. The MVSS system essentially consists of a cavity in the shape of an arc of a circle containing a high viscosity silicone. A plunger is attached to the tone arm and is in free contact with the silicone bath via a threaded rod. This rod thus dissipates unwanted micro-vibrations in order to prevent them from spreading to the mechanical components of the Paris. The result is a significantly improved sonic performance. We obtain better clarity and a more detailed or even deeper image.

Power and Engine System

When it came time to choose the Paris training system, Oracle went for it without compromise. The Paris TT Mk5 is equipped with the same low voltage synchronous AC motor as well as the same electronic motor control circuit as the Delphi Mk6! This circuit has a very high precision oscillator which ensures high rotational stability of the motor. Using a 24 volt power supply, the Paris TT Mk6 can also be powered by the optional Turbo Mk2 power supply exactly like the Delphi Mk6 increasing the level of performance into an unforgettable experience!

Belt Drive System & Two-Piece Chainring

The Paris Mk5 uses a belt drive. The core of the Paris chainring is made of aluminum and it is the latter that serves as the drive surface for the belt. The main platter is made of acrylic which is an ideal inert material to avoid transmitting unwanted vibrations. The pivot rests on a thrust plate which is made of a thermoplastic called “PEEK” which is one of the toughest thermoplastics. This is the ideal material to transmit the least vibration energy while being strong enough to ensure the correct rotation of the plate for the entire life of the Paris!

Spectacular finish

The Main Frame and the Semi-Floating Sub-Frame of the Paris TT Mk5 are made from a high density isotropic wood fiber of choice. Available in five different colors it is covered with a high quality lacquer and is polished by hand to give it all the elegance it deserves! The Paris TT Mk5 can be delivered with the optional Paris tonearm. A clear acrylic dust cover retained by aluminum hinges is also available as an option.
