The Marantz HD-DAC1 is the very first model of the new generation "HD Series" from Marantz. In fact, the HD-DAC1 is an external digital-to-analog converter of choice in this series. In order to eliminate the phenomenon of "internal amplification microphony", the HD-DAC1 is built on a double-thick aluminum base. This gives it the anti-vibration mechanical stability necessary to achieve such levels of performance.

The HD-DAC1 is equipped with both state-of-the-art ESS Saber digital-to-analog converters and Marantz's exclusive HDAM technology. Together, these allow the processing of the largest digital recording formats up to PCM 32bits/384KHz and DSD 11.2MHz! In addition, in order to be as stable as possible at each of the sampling frequencies, the HD-DAC1 uses 2 internal master quartz “clocks”. High-precision digital filtration stages are used to extract as much digital information as possible from the recordings. A processing algorithm has been specially developed by Marantz and integrated into the very heart of the HD-DAC1!

The HD-DAC1 uses a set of digital inputs allowing virtually any digital source to be used. Interestingly, the USB input is an asynchronous function which allows the transmission of very high resolution formats. This USB input is perfect for using a computer as a universal source.
