Ultimate Vibration Isolation
Just as with turntables, external and internal vibrations of the playback environment are a major problem in musical reproduction. For this reason, the CD-2500 Mk4 has Oracle's unique suspension system originating from the Delphi. A total of 9 different materials are used and their cumulative effects allow the widest possible band of vibration frequencies to be absorbed. The acrylic base of the CD-2500 MkIV plays an important role at the structural level. Its rigidity supports the floating frame where the reading mechanism resides and also supports the box closing the electronic circuits.
Micro-Vibration Stabilization System (MVSS)
The MVSS system is considered by Oracle to be the largest and most significant improvement to Delphi in 35 years of research and development. The MVSS acts as a shock absorber for the main suspension of the CD-2500 Mk4 and is also effective in absorbing micro-vibrations present in the playing environment. These micro-vibrations are omnipresent and contribute to "polluting" the reading signal. With the MVSS system, the "Floating-Sub-Chassis/Rotating-Platform/Tone-Arm/Cartridge" assembly is completely isolated from the influence of these micro-vibrations. The MVSS system basically consists of three aluminum barrels containing a high viscosity silicone that are attached to the acrylic base. Three divers attached to the floating subframe soak lightly in the silicone baths. They can thus dissipate unwanted micro-vibrations to prevent them from spreading to mechanical components. The result is a significantly improved sonic performance. We obtain greater clarity and a more detailed or even deeper image which comes from a better reading precision and this over the entire frequency range. The low frequencies in particular become deeper and more frank.
Main Chassis
The Fixed Frame of the CD-2500 Mk4 plays an important structural role. Its rigidity and robustness support both the Floating Chassis comprising the reading mechanics as well as the conversion electronics. The Fixed Chassis, thanks to its imposing mass, greatly contributes to the elimination of resonant frequencies. In addition, several other components are used to control the different bands: - The nylon sleeve allows the elimination of certain High-Frequencies. - The Delrin coupling pillars mainly absorb Medium Frequencies as well as some High. - A urethane insulator acts as a damper working on almost all of the remaining resonance frequencies, thus reducing their amplitude to negligible levels.
State-of-the-art components
The CD-2500 Mk4 includes components specially selected for their durability, reliability and of course for their excellent sound. The CD-2500 Mk4 player has a conversion circuit using a BurrBrown PCM1792 processor allowing digital to analog conversion up to 24Bits and 192kHz. In addition, it incorporates an analog stage composed of four analog circuits in discrete components allowing fully balanced operation.
power-supply
The power source of the CD-2500 MkIV is entirely external in order to eliminate any risk of electromagnetic induction between it and the digital or analog circuits of the player.
Spectacular finish
In order to provide an impeccable finish, the vast majority of aluminum parts are machined with diamond-tipped tools. Otherwise, the aluminum parts are brushed by hand and then covered with a polyester lacquer in order to seal and preserve the texture of the surfaces. It is this meticulous work that gives the CD-2500 MkIV, like the Delphi MkVI, its status as a work of art!
